1. Who can use this app

Kids Read to Earn is intended for use by families. Parent accounts may be created by adults aged 18 and above. Parents are responsible for creating and managing accounts for their children, and for supervising their children's use of the platform. By creating an account, you confirm that you are an adult and accept these terms on behalf of yourself and your family.

2. Article content you submit

When you submit an article to the platform, you confirm that:

• You have the right to submit the content, or the content is from a publicly accessible source such as a government website, Wikipedia, or a Creative Commons-licensed publication.
• The content is appropriate for children and does not contain material that is offensive, harmful, or illegal.
• You understand that the platform uses AI to create simplified versions of submitted articles. These derivative versions are generated solely for your family's private, non-commercial use.

We do not publish or share submitted article content beyond your family account. We are not responsible for the accuracy or legality of articles you choose to submit.

3. AI-generated content

The simplified article versions and quiz questions on this platform are generated by Claude AI (Anthropic). While we take care to ensure quality, AI-generated content may occasionally contain errors, inaccuracies, or oversimplifications. This platform is intended as a supplementary reading and comprehension tool and should not be relied upon as the sole source of educational instruction.

4. Points and leaderboard

Points earned by children on this platform have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged, transferred, or redeemed for any goods, services, or benefits outside the app. The leaderboard is intended purely as a fun, motivational feature within your family.

5. Privacy and your data

We take your family's privacy seriously:

• We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information or your children's data with third parties.
• Children's accounts are created and managed exclusively by their parent's account.
• We collect only the information necessary to operate the platform: account names, email addresses (optional), and activity within the app.
• You may request deletion of your family's account and all associated data at any time by contacting us.

6. Account security

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. Please use a strong, unique password and do not share your login details with anyone outside your family. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

7. Service availability

This platform is provided on an “as is” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability and are not liable for any loss or inconvenience caused by downtime, errors, or service interruptions. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time.

8. Intellectual property

The platform itself — including its source code, design, layout, visual elements, feature set, and all original written content produced by its operators — is the intellectual property of Alvin Teo and is protected by copyright law. All rights are reserved.

• You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works of the platform or any part of it without prior written permission.
• The name “Kids Read to Earn” and the R2E branding are the property of Alvin Teo. You may not use them in any manner that implies endorsement or affiliation.
• AI-generated content on this platform (simplified articles and quiz questions) is produced for use within the platform only and may not be extracted or republished.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. We will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page when changes are made.
